I haven’t done one of these in a while. I’m having some of my homemade pan seared lemon-pepper Mahi and a nice California Pinot.

I had bbq pork sausages, Chinese pork bellies and Bourbon marinated pork loin steaks but the best part is the Jameson Irish Whiskey to wash it down with.

Well, it was my birthday dinner. I love to cook so I always make my birthday dinner. We had my cake and some mint chip ice cream for dessert. Also the fish was incredibly easy to make; its just fish, lemon juice, salt, pepper, canola oil and a little wine watched closely in a pan with variable heat. It took like 20 minutes to make

Not to be a snob (or a nob) but “Pinot” generally refers to Pinot Noir, not Pinot Gris/Grigio. Todays Top Tip from a wine professional.

But as for me, I’m finishing off some pasta (oricchiette) with homemade lamb ragu complimented with a nice Barbaresco. Molto Benne.

Literally sauce is the easiest, but it can be time consuming. Just plopped a lot of olive oil and oinions in a pot to simmer. Meanwhile, season ground meat of your choosing (or don’t if you don’t want meat) and put many tomatoes in the oven to roast with MORE olive oil and garlic and salt and rosemary. When the skins start to break on the tomatoes, pull them out and peel off skins (watch out for burning your fingers) and then plop those suckers in the pot to break down and get nice n juicy. You can add tomato paste and sugar too to get it more tomato-y. Then, once the sauce looks right, dump in vegetables of your choosing, I recommend mushrooms, eggplant, and carrots.

Then eat with lots of tasty wine. OH, and speaking of wine, you should probably dump some in the sauce too. And probably have a bottle open to drink while your cooking. So you’ll need 3 bottles of wine, minimum.
